Information You Submit
A name, phone number, or address entered into a search form is sent to the third-party provider that returns the search results. Montclair Residents Directory does not retain those searches on its own servers. A message sent to us contains only the information in that message, which is used to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
Hosting systems may create routine logs such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time stamps. We review that information in aggregate to operate and improve the service. Cookies or comparable technologies can support basic analytics and, if used, advertising measurement.
How Technical Data Is Used
Information is used to run the service, diagnose problems, measure traffic, and improve the pages. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual visitor profiles.
External Services and Links
Links lead to county and state portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search tools. Those destinations apply their own privacy rules to information submitted there. Sponsored search results are also provided by a separate company.
Service Providers and Disclosure
Hosting and support providers process the operational logs needed for the service. Analytics and advertising partners can receive the automatic data described above. Information is disclosed only when required by valid legal process or as otherwise described here.
Safeguards and Retention
The service uses an encrypted connection, and operational logs are retained only for as long as the purposes above require. Because there are no user accounts, the service does not hold a visitor password or account profile.
Visitors Under 18
The service is intended for adults and is not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Contact us if you believe a minor has sent information, and we will remove it.
Your Information Requests
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data a service keeps. Because this service keeps very little, a request normally concerns the contact mailbox and relevant server logs. Use the Contact page to ask. Government records are outside our control: New Jersey’s Open Public Records Act, N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq., directs a request to the public agency custodian that holds the specific record.
